Patch Me

This is my first game ever, I always wanted to develop games but I never had the skill or time to do so, now with the help of claude code and other AI tools, I feel like I can get my Ideas to life.

Patch Me is a 2D action game about a game being made — badly, then less badly.

You start in version 0.1.0. The hitboxes are offset. The audio crackles and drops. The UI sits in the wrong place. None of this is an accident. The developer shipped it anyway, called it a demo, and hoped nobody would notice.

You will notice.

What you'll find in this demo:

You're dropped into Area 1 — Collision Plains, a level that exists mostly because someone had to start somewhere. Enemies patrol the halls. A ranged enemy shoots at you through corridors. Pipes leak something green that will kill you on contact. A gate blocks your path until you've dealt with the threats nearby.

At the end of it: The Placeholder. A boss added in v0.0.1 as a temporary asset. It never got replaced. It has two phases, a shockwave, and a health bar drawn directly on its own body because nobody got around to making a proper HUD.

Defeat it. Watch the Patch Notes roll.

The broken stuff is intentional. Hitboxes don't line up with sprites. Sounds glitch out. The UI is ugly on purpose. This is v0.1.0. You're supposed to feel it.

The game knows it's a game. The NPCs know they're in a game. One of them has been stuck in Area 1 since the first commit and filed a bug report that got closed as won't fix.

This is a demo of a work in progress. More areas, more patches, and more things that were supposed to be temporary are on the way.

Also, my main goal with posting this is that im looking to improve, any feedbacks or critics are not only accepted but incentivised.
BTW: Controls are  WASD for moves / Mouse for aim+shoot / E for interact
